REGIONAL BRANDING CONTEST FOR SXSW BOOTH DESIGN
"MAKE YOUR MARK"
The panel of judges from companies such as Capital One, GRP, ChamberRVA, and Altria chose our “Make Your Mark” campaign from fourteen competing presentations. Our winning team travelled to Austin, TX in March 2018 to manage the display and had access to the full SXSW show.
Challenge: Design a campaign and booth that not only invites attendees to learn about the greater Richmond, VA, but also allows them to actively & creatively engage with the space.
Concept: We invited SXSW attendees to choose a category (Outdoor Recreation, Arts & Culture, Career, and Food & Drink) in which they would make their mark if they were to visit or move to our city. The designated colors for each category helped us chat with our audience about their industry of interest as well as utilize the mural to serve as a data map to indicate where people are most interested. Our takeaway from this experience? Everyone loves to color.
This was an effective means of engaging our audience and gathering meaningful data.
